Information For Authors

1. About the Journal

Kafkasya Journal of Health Sciences (KJHS) is an independent, impartial, double-blind peer-reviewed, international, open-access journal. The journal publishes twice a year (June and December) and covers high-quality original research articles, short communications, review articles, case reports, and letters to the editor in all fields of health sciences.

Language Policy: From 2026 onward, only English-language manuscripts will be considered.

2. Submission Procedure

  1. Authors must register or log in to submit a manuscript.

  2. Manuscripts are submitted via the 5-step online submission system: Submission System.

  3. Submitted manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

  4. Authors may contact editors in advance to confirm the suitability of their work.

3. Article Types and Format

  • Full Research Articles: Maximum 10 pages.

  • Short Communications: Maximum 5 pages (excluding references and abstract).

  • Review Articles and Letters to the Editor: Must be original and approved by editors.

  • Abstract: Single paragraph, maximum 350 words, no references.

  • Keywords: Maximum 6; do not repeat title words.

  • Structure: Title page → Abstract → Main Text → References.

  • Sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion.

Tables and Figures:

  • Include within text and also on separate pages.

  • Minimum resolution: 300 dpi.

  • Each table/figure should be self-explanatory with footnotes as needed.

Writing and Formatting Rules:

4. Peer Review Process

  • Double-blind peer review applied.

  • Each manuscript evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.

  • Average review time: 4–6 weeks.

  • Minor revisions: 2 weeks; major revisions: 3 months.

  • Accepted articles are published online within 2 weeks.

5. Copyright and Licensing

  • The copyright of articles published in Kafkasya Journal of Health Sciences belongs to the authors. Authors grant the journal the right of first publication and the authority to distribute the work within the scope of open access.

  • All articles are published under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 International License.

  • Non-commercial use and sharing with proper attribution is allowed; derivative works are prohibited.

6. Ethics

  • Human and animal studies require institutional ethics committee approval.

  • Authors are responsible for ensuring all co-authors approve submission and that the manuscript is not submitted elsewhere.

  • Conflict of interest: All authors must declare any financial or non-financial conflicts.

7. Open Access and Fees

  • The journal is fully open access; all content is freely available.

  • No article processing charges (APCs) apply.

8. Nucleotide and Amino Acid Sequences

  • Newly determined sequences must be deposited in GenBank or equivalent databases, and accession numbers must be included in the manuscript.
