Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy
1. General Principles
Kafkasya Journal of Health Sciences (KJHS) regulates the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and similar automated tools in the publication process ethically, transparently, and in accordance with academic standards. AI tools should support scientific integrity and academic quality and must not replace the independent judgment and responsibility of the researcher.
2. Permitted Uses of AI
Authors may use AI tools for:
- Language editing and proofreading (grammar, spelling, formatting)
- Abstracting or summarization support
- Data visualization and figure creation
Note: AI cannot replace scientific accuracy or interpretation of results.
3. Transparency in AI Use
- Authors must disclose any content created or edited using AI tools.
- AI-assisted content should be clearly indicated in the manuscript’s Methods or Acknowledgments section.
- AI cannot replace the author’s independent evaluation; all scientific content and conclusions remain the responsibility of the authors.
4. Ethical Responsibility
- AI use must not involve plagiarism or fabrication of data.
- All scientific claims in published articles must be verified by the authors.
- Editors and reviewers may assess the appropriateness and transparency of AI usage.
5. Violations
- Any unethical use of AI or lack of transparency will be addressed under the journal’s publication ethics policies.
- Corrections or retractions may be applied if necessary.
6. Purpose
This policy aims to ensure that Kafkasya Journal of Health Sciences:
- Maintains scientific integrity
- Promotes transparency in AI usage
- Clarifies authors’ ethical responsibilities
