1. General Principles

Kafkasya Journal of Health Sciences (KJHS) requires informed consent for all research involving human participants. This ensures participant rights are protected and ethical standards are met.

  • Informed consent is obtained when participants are provided with adequate information regarding the study’s purpose, procedures, risks, potential benefits, and the use of personal data.
  • Consent must be voluntary and explicit.
  • Participants have the right to withdraw from the study at any time.

2. In Publications

  • Articles involving human participants must include a statement confirming that written informed consent was obtained from all participants.
  • Informed consent must be documented, and a copy of the form must be retained by the researchers for future reference.
  • For studies involving children under 18, informed consent must be obtained from a parent or legal guardian.
  • When surveys or interviews are reported, authors must confirm that participants gave informed consent to participate and for their data to be recorded.

3. Quotes and Anonymity

  • Any quotes or identifiable information must be anonymized, or the participant’s permission to publish must be documented.
  • Authors are responsible for protecting participant anonymity and privacy.
  • For photographs that could reveal a participant’s identity, authors must obtain signed consent from the participant or legal representative.
  • Any restrictions or conditions on the use of photographs must be clearly stated.
  • Consent for publication of photographs and personal data must be included in the Methods section of the manuscript.
