Hepatik lipidoz, kedilerde en sık ölüme sebep olan metabolik karaciğer hastalığıdır. Hastalık primer idiyopatik veya sekonder olmak üzere iki forma sahiptir. Hepatik lipidoz genellikle obez kedilerin herhangi bir nedenden dolayı ortaya çıkan anoreksiyi takiben şekillenmektedir. Hastalığın kesin tanısında karaciğer biyopsilerinin histolojik olarak değerlendirilmesi gerekmesine rağmen hastalığı işaret eden tipik klinikopatolojik bulgular mevcuttur. Kedilerde hepatik lipidoz tedavisinin temelini sıvı, elektolit ve metabolik eksikliklerin giderilmesi ve gıda alımının başlatılması oluşturmaktadır.
